Are you hoping to integrate Earth Science Disciplinary Core Ideas into your Physics courses? PEER Physics offers authentic Earth science integration resources through both Anchoring Phenomena and Earth Science Explorations. In Chapter W, students explore natural disasters, seismic waves, and plate tectonics. This Anchoring Phenomenon is available for teachers and schools who are officially piloting Chapter W to inform adoption decisions. Reach out to Shelly for details about a Waves pilot: shelly.belleau@PEERphysics.org
W.1: Model for Sound
W.2: Models for Pitch and Volume
W.3: Sound and Light
W.3 Mathematical Models
(note: starred questions do not exist within mathematical modeling)
W.4: Adding Waves
W.5: Another Model of Light
W.5 Mathematical Models
(note: starred questions do not exist within mathematical modeling)
W.6: The Photoelectric Effect
Students will benefit from being familiar with ideas about electric charge and electron movement through conductors. We highly recommend that students have built models of static and current electricity prior to engaging with this activity.

Special Thanks
Special thanks to the Physics and Everyday Thinking developers who envisioned inclusive learning environments where students develop, share, critique, argue, and revise evidence-based ideas — principles upon which PEER Physics is based.
